We are looking for an enthusiastic Finance Intern!

We are Conscious Group. We offer the most sustainable stays and a seamless guest experience in a fun atmosphere. Under Conscious Hotels, we have 5 sustainable hotels, 1 organic restaurant, and 2 coffee bars, mostly in Amsterdam (we just opened our newest location in Utrecht last September!). Together with Hotel V & The Lobby, we’ve grown to a total of 9 hotels and 3 restaurants.

The Finance team at Conscious Group consists of 10 colleagues. As our new Finance Intern, you will support the team with a variety of financial tasks and projects. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills and gain valuable insight into the financial side of the hotel industry.

For this internship, we’re looking not just for number-crunchers, but for people eager to understand how a company really works. You’ll learn the ins and outs of the hotel and gain insight into entrepreneurship. As part of the team, your ideas and input will be valued, with the freedom to contribute, and possibly implement, your own ideas.

A day in the life of …

– Processing all financial and accounting data
– Affinity and knowledge with setting up financial systems
– Optimize our new invoice process system
– Accurate booking of invoices and preparation of payments
– Processing all data of (new) debtors and creditors
– Follow up of accounts receivable management and accounts payable payments
– Preparing reports (e.g. month-end closing, time analyses, etc.)
– Identifying and correcting any discrepancies, after which you inform the department managers
– Being part of ad hoc requests and projects
– For internships longer than 6 months we work towards independent financial management of one of our hotels

What are we looking for?

– You are a HBO student (hospitality or finance related, but other fields of study are also welcome)
– You have an interest in all financial aspects of a company. You are accurate and analytical
– You have high integrity (you can keep sensitive information with you)
– You are looking for a collaboration / graduation internship of at least 5 months
– You are enthusiastic, independent and proactive
– You speak Dutch and English fluently and have a good sense of language
– You live in or near Amsterdam
– You like to have a good time, which is not unimportant 🙂
