Commit Global is dedicated to creating and maintaining a global digital infrastructure to support civil society organizations (CSOs) and vulnerable populations. Our mission is to unlock the promise of technology for social good by ensuring that vital open-source digital tools are up to standard and accessible to all who need them. We work on a range of issues, in humanitarian and civic engagement.
What You Will Do
As an intern at Commit Global, you will be an integral part of our team, supporting various projects that leverage technology and design to drive social impact.
We are looking for people who are familiar with one or more of the following:
- PHP/Laravel
- .NET
- React Native
- Python
- DevOps, focusing on AWS and Azure infrastructure.
You will be part of our development team and your responsibilities will include one or more of the following:
- Contribute to software development by writing, testing, and debugging code
- Support the development, testing, and maintenance of Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate software builds and releases
- Work with cloud platforms to manage, deploy, and scale applications
- Support the automatization, configuration and optimization of infrastructure to meet project needs
- Help in the setup, configuration, and management of servers and development environments
- Assist with maintaining backups, monitoring server health, and updating software systems
- Analyze system performance metrics regularly
- Create reports on system performance and provide recommendations
What We Expect From You
We are looking for a motivated individual with the following qualifications:
- Excellent written and spoken English (professional level).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Good understanding of Git and Git workflows.
- Ability to write clear and well documented code.
- Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Previous experience and open-source contributions are considered a plus.
